X JAPAN - Tuesday 28th June 2011, Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London; UK
Me & my friend, Becky (bocky17) got into the queue at 5pm. 2 hours later and we were in the venue, and because i am so short i couldn’t see a thing from where we were, we were like to the right and nearish the front i guess. At like 7.45 the support band came on, they were meh, lmao. Then came the roadies setting up and when they were done, you expect X to come on soon after. But no, the venue started playing a load of shitty songs to fill the time.
I think X came on about 9ish, but i’m not too sure. All i could see was Yoshiki’s drum kit and his piano from where i stood, but that was thing i wanted to see most so i’m fine with it :) when i saw Yoshiki… i just broke down into tears. I have cried and needed to hold Becky’s hand at every gig i have ever been to, because i’m stupid and get too overwhelmed by everything. :) I didn’t see any of the other members come on stage.
They opened with their new song, Jade, which was amazing, and it’s already up there with my favourite X songs. And here is the rest of the set list of the first half:
Born to be Free
Sugizo also did a violin solo which i could see a little of, and Yoshiki did several, amazing, flawless piano solos (but i can’t remember when abouts in the concert these happened). Toshi & Yoshiki’s english to the crowd was hilarious, the highlight being Yoshiki saying: ‘It’s so fucking hot. I need green tea. No, No I meant… how do you call that, PG TIPS. PG FUCKING TIPS.’The only bad things about the concert was a couldn’t see alot, i didn’t see Pata or Heath at all, not even a glance LOL, so i need to watch some fan cams. I saw Sugizo a tiny bit, only during the violin solo, and like i’ve already said, I saw Toshi and especially Yoshiki the most. Along with this, i was kinda annoyed at the fact everyone kept shouting when Yoshiki was trying to talk, and started screaming during the slower and quieter songs and solos, it just felt kind of disrespectful… but whatever, i guess we can’t help it, X fans have waited years for this. The encore was my favourite, and i was crying and shaking from the moment Yoshiki mentioned Hide’s name, all the way through Endless Rain, which now stands as the most emotional performance i’ve ever seen (that doesn’t sound like it makes sense… but you know what i mean right?) In the encore, I think they also did Art of Movement? but correct me if i’m wrong, and finally Forever Love, which was beautiful. I really liked the fans at X, especially the crazy ones that would start screaming ‘WE ARE’ and the rest of the crowd would shout ‘X’, you all seemed like awesome people and i hope you all had an amazing time.
i'm back from london angels :) i will post a summary of the last couple days for you all tomorrow, but right now i'm really tired and just going to have a negative rant, because i can. btw, i missed you all :3
